How big does an addition need to be?

Most of us, when we think of building an addition on to the house, think of an entire room – such as a new bedroom, perhaps with a bathroom. But additions can be anything from a small bump out to accommodate a new gas fireplace, or a bay window to brighten up the breakfast nook.

We have done all sizes and types. Some have been unique, such as one where we were asked to build in a sun room on the second floor that was over a deck and between two ends of the second floor. It turn out great, by the way! Here is a photo:
