Many older homes have funky small garages whats up with that

Here in Bellingham we have lots of older homes built in the 30’s and 40’s, and they often have small garages, some of which are falling apart by now, but that is another story. Why were those garages built so small? Can you even open your car doors when parked inside them?

I don’t have the answer to the question on whether you can open your car doors inside those garages, but we love to update and repair whatever structures you have on your property that you want to keep looking nice.

We have been tasked with updating some of these old garage spaces, and adding a new garage door, even building a deck on the top. Even if the garages are too small to park in, they make nifty storage spaces, and updating them is cheaper than building a new structure.
