Five ways to upgrade your tub/shower
Most homes have a tub/ shower in one bathroom; these work best for families with children, but if that’s not you, then you may be longing for that full size shower.
Removing a tub often means you can get a 5 foot shower in that space. A walk in shower with tile and glass walls gives a luxury vibe.
- Some homeowners want a curbless shower, and if you think that might be needed for a family member who uses a wheelchair, that may be a necessity. But fully curbless showers require floors slanted to keep the water inside the shower and is an additional cost.
- Low curb showers are a great option, with all the style and good looks the curbless showers have. Contrasting tile installed on the shower floor distinguishes from the rest of the floor.
- Select wall tile that fits your color and texture preferences, and include one or more niches for items you use in the shower.
- You can opt for a no-door shower, as long as there is enough room for the shower spray to be contained within the shower area.
- Showers can be built with a combined half wall and glass. The visual appeal and light that glass walls provide make for an upscale feel to the space.
