Are open concept kitchens a good idea?
Creating a more open kitchen appeals to homeowners for both functional and aesthetic reasons. Removing a wall allows the room to appear larger, and makes entertaining more enjoyable, as the cook can converse with guests much easier.
An open kitchen makes moving from one room to another easier with fewer walls blocking the way, so circulating with guests and family is more natural.
The open feel that removing walls creates improves natural light available and gives the impression of a larger space.
Not only does the room feel larger, but it actually is slightly bigger, as that wall is no longer there, and many take the advantage this provides to have an island built into the kitchen, or to enlarge an existing island.
Here are a few kitchens we have renovated recently; if you are looking to update your kitchen area, we love to work with you to make that happen just as you envisioned!
